Clear your browser’s Cookies and Cache

Often simple website glitches are caused by your browser getting into a little muddle with cookies and the cached information.

It is likely that you will be visiting your website far more frequently than patients, often multiple times a day. This means that sometimes your browser gets into a muddle and may cause minor glitches but this will not cause issues for the patient.

You can test this by using a different device or an alternative browser to access the website to see if you get the same results.

How to clear your browser’s Cookies and Cache

Cookies

Cookies are bits of info websites store on your computer and  only contain bits of text, not anything else. This can be user or session ID.

Lots of web pages can be set to alter an element on the page. The page can save this setting on your computer with a cookie. When you load the page in the future, the page can examine the cookie and alter the element. Very much like saved preferences.

Cookies are used by every website and there will be thousands in your browser right now.

Cache

A folder that collects temporary data to help websites load faster and helps devices run faster. Your browser will load data locally instead of redownloading it every time you visit a website, unless it has spotted an update. In these circumstances it will download the new information from the website.
